The K775X Turbo Freeze Dryer with Liquid Nitrogen Fed Cold Stage

The K775X Turbo Freeze Drier can operate at temperatures down -140oC and employs a K775X Freeze Drier | Image Pop Upturbomolecular pumping unit, backed by a rotary vacuum pump. The lower temperatures are achieved by using a liquid nitrogen fed cold stage from a dewar on the unit, giving several hours holding time, which can be topped up by hand as required.

Preferably an auto top-up system consisting of level sensor and free standing 30 or (60) Litre pressurised dewar, giving several days unattended operation.

The pre-frozen specimens are admitted into the cooled stage of the drying chamber, through the lid with a sample transfer holder. (Two such holders are provided, for TEM grids and SEM stubs.) The system incorporates both time and temperature control, and at the end of the drying period, the stage may be heated prior to specimen removal. A microprocessor x10 segment sequence control allows 10 time periods and 10 temperature settings to be programmed to achieve a range of drying protocols, up to 10 different protocols can be stored for future use. The system also has facilities for purging with Nitrogen Gas. For extended drying periods, an auto top-up device can be provided as an option to continuously 'fill' the chamber's liquid nitrogen dewar.

The option of a custom designed specimen freezing chamber to produce 'slushy' subcooled liquid nitrogen is available. This is a free standing chamber and should be pumped independently from the K775X.

The option for Carbon Coating Attachment to carbon coat without breaking vacuum is available and similarly an option for a Sputter Coating Attachment.
